Clearings or 'Releasement' play a great part within the paranormal field.
Releasement is a modern term for an exorcism of an earthbound spirit, or a discarnate being attached to a place, person or object.

Releasement refers primarily to exorcisms not performed by clergy. It is preferred by some mediums and therapists because it doe not carry the same associations with the demonic as the term 'exorcism'.

The term is also called 'depossession,' which applies specifically to an outgrowth of past-life therapy (involving the discovery of alleged past lives).
Patients are 'depossessed,' or exorcised, of both discarnate human and
non-human spirits. The spirits are suspected of causing physical, emotional and mental problems, some of them allegedly karmic in origin.
According to some therapists, most attached entities are not evil or demonic, though such beings have been encountered.

Releasements are generally performed by the more spiritual organisations out there. But RiPA can also conduct this on request.
