A Different Breed

Posted by Cally on Saturday, April 16, 2011, In : TV reviews
OK so this isn’t strictly a “paranormal” program but hear me out.

The British are notorious pet lovers. This program highlights just how nuts about our pets we really are.
Here comes the paranormal bit. In the first episode we met Vinnie Jones the clairvoyant dachshund, apparently this pooch sees ghostly beings wherever he goes and alerts his owners by barking.

'Whatever...' I hear you say, but this program sets out to prove Vinnies amazing powers of intuity teaming him up with a paranor...

Psychic Kids

Posted by Skepchic Jen on Saturday, November 13, 2010, In : TV reviews

Even among self-identified skeptics, who are aware of the dangers of fraud and outspoken against the most popular offenders, there is a tendency to laugh at psychics. I mean, come on. They’re funny. We can get away with it because, unlike some other issues about which skeptics seek to educate, the public in general gets what’s up with this crowd. The average person doesn’t really believe in psychics, and understands that most them are everyday, garden-variety kooks or scammers or both, ...

Ghost Hunting Shows Are Getting Tiresome

Posted by Atticus on Monday, July 19, 2010, In : TV reviews

If like RiPA, you are starting to get a little bit tired with the current trend of ghost hunting shows, the following read should have you nodding in agreement!

With all ghost hunting shows, there are only two possible outcomes; either a ghost is found, or not (so really one possible outcome). Producers have to prepare for either scenario.

Just The Facts

Every loosely science based channel airs multiple shows where people search for ghosts.
They all share one flaw.
Ghosts are rarely seen if at ...

Ok, so its been and gone and the update has been delayed due to other projects.
So, Derek Acorah is going to contact Michael Jackson is he?
Bit of a tall order methinks, but we all know how skillful and in touch with the spirits Mr acorah is.

We have the full transcript of the seance here and again with a little critical thinking applied.
Im not going to go into detail on the pomp and circumstance leading up to the seance so lets just jump straight in:

June Sarpong: JS
Matthew Smith: MS

Living with the dead

Posted by Cally on Wednesday, May 13, 2009, In : TV reviews

Living with the dead is hosted by Johnnie Fiori and Ian “bad boy of the paranormal” Lawman and to be honest with you is total drivel. Sorry if your reading this and your a fan but were all entitled to our opinions and this is mine.

The basis of the show is that these two mediums and a paranormal investigator go into peoples homes and investigate paranormal activity and help to resolve it.

I have a sneaky suspicion that at some point in his career Mr Lawman attended the Derek Acorah sch...

Ghost hunters

Posted by Cally on Thursday, March 26, 2009, In : TV reviews

Ghost hunters is the brain child of Jason Hawes and Grant Wilson and what a brain child it is. This series follows the investigations of the Atlantic paranormal society or TAPS as it is affectionately known. These guys rock they show paranormal investigation as it should be shown. They try to debunk everything that's been reported and their not afraid to say that a place isn't haunted, Its refreshing to watch a show that doesn't declare everything to be haunted. The team show a solidarity...

Screaming banshees

Well if you wanna know where you can find me at 9.00 on a Thursday night then I'll tell you. Cuddled up on my sofa, tuned into the paranormal channel ready for screaming banshees. This has to be the funniest thing I've seen in months, Yvette Fielding, Leslie Smith and Kath Howe travel around the countryside in a camper van investigating paranormal hotspots. These three women are hilarious, they bicker, scream and swear their way through investigations and then spend a night outside the lo...

Paranormal state

Posted by Cally on Thursday, February 12, 2009, In : TV reviews

This show follows the investigations of the Penn state university paranormal research society. The team headed by Ryan Buell, investigate reports of paranormal activity within the united states, following reports of ghosts, poltergeist, demons and other scary paranormal occurrences. Not quiet sure on this one, love the concept and think the guys are great, but it can be a tad theatrical at times. The medium they use is Chip Coffey and I'm afraid to say he's the American version of Derek A...
